What an excellent edition! I loved Gerald Gibson's reminiscences to earlier times. I well remember drinking Ushers PA in The Black Horse at Gt Durnford, and Romsey Trophy - and the occassional Brickwood's Best - in The Railway Tavern. There are many absent 'friends' - Huntsman IPA and Royal Oak are just two beers that I loved.

I am also in 100% agreement with Hilary Bird's  article. A pub in Clapham High Street (Royal Oak) used to keep beers from Adnams and other breweries. Visiting the other day, it just sells "craft" keg beers. I must admit, by asking for a second glass so that i could 'break down' the gas, it wasn't too bad (although the barman thought I was most peculiar!). Until, that is, I had a pint of cask beer in another pub. I could then tell the difference. This is just one pub that has gone "craft", and although better than Watney's Red, an inferior (imo) beer to real ale.

Barrel Organ has certainly come of age! Well done to all concerned. Cheers
