      Bus and Train Socials

For upcoming bus and train socials please see our events pages.

      £2 Single Bus Fare Extended

All single bus fares in our area are capped at a maximum of £2 until at least the end of 2024. Although day and weekly passes are available, it’s unlikely anyone would take enough trips to make these worthwhile. You can now pay by ‘tapping on’ with your credit card or smartphone. (There’s no need to tap off – the fare will be £2 either way.)

      Concessions and Discounts

CAMRA members receive a 20% discount on National Express coach Journeys. For details of how to claim log into the main CAMRA website and scroll down to National Express.

Concessionary bus passes are available to some Wiltshire residents. For details of eligibility and how to apply see the Wiltshire Council website

Anyone can receive a third off rail fares with a Railcard. If you aren’t eligible for any of the other cards, you can apply for a Network Railcard, which can be used for most journeys from Salisbury – but not in the direction of Warminster. Check which Railcard you are eligible for.

      Public Transport Operators

Buses in our area are operated by Salisbury Reds and other operators in the GoSouthCoast group, with a few services run by Stagecoach. For all bus services you can use the Connecting Wiltshire Journey Planner or various other planners and apps.

To plan and book rail journeys you can use the National Rail Journey Planner or search for an app that minimises your fare by splitting tickets.

Report Issues with Service Patterns or Reductions

If your ability to use hospitality business is limited by poor public transport provision, for example at evenings and weekends, or there’s been a service change that makes this more difficult, then please report it to CAMRA

Suggestions for Bus and Train Socials

If you have any suggestions for bus and train socials – or if you’d like us to visit your local – please contact us and let us know and we’ll see if we can arrange a suitable trip.

      Pubs by Public Transport

WhatPub has details of pubs which can be reached by public transport. Look on the individual pub page under the ‘Transport’ tab, but be sure to check the latest timetables.
